is the story about Melissa, my 7-year-old daughter. In kindergarten and
throughout grade 1, Melissa was so shy that she refused to speak in class,
refused to participate, and had very little confidence. She would do show
and tell with much difficulty, would not sign up for any of the school competitions
and would not even attend an extracurricular class without her best friend
